Fostering Academic–Diplomatic Exchange with Thomas More University
On Wednesday, 3 December 2025, the Embassy of Rwanda had the pleasure of welcoming a group of students from Thomas More University, enrolled in the Bachelor’s programme in Global Supply Chain Management, following the course African Business Topics as part of their curriculum. For their final research assignment, the students were assigned Rwanda as their focus country.
The objective of their project is to analyse how Flemish and European investors, entrepreneurs, and organisations can effectively engage with, invest in, and conduct business in Rwanda.
As part of their research, the students are required to gather first-hand insights from our Embassy. Their inquiries focused on the following themes:
• Business culture and etiquette
• Cross-cultural aspects and dynamics between different groups
• Practical guidelines for doing business and navigating negotiations
• Opportunities for economic cooperation
• The presence and activities of Belgian, Flemish and other European companies in Rwanda
The First Secretary was pleased to support their academic work and contribute to their understanding of Rwanda’s business environment.
