Rwanda and Egypt organized side event during PCA Congress
On the 14th of June 2024, the Republic of Rwanda and the Arab Republic of Egypt in their capacity as vice-chairs of the Special Working Group for the 125th Anniversary of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) organized a side event titled:
The Permanent Court of Arbitration’s role in the development of arbitral seats in Africa” in the presence of Members of the Court and representatives of Contracting Parties.

Established in 1899 at the First Hague Peace Conference, the Permanent Court of Arbitration will celebrate its 125th anniversary on 29 July 2024.
On the occasion of its 125th Anniversary, the PCA held the third-ever Congress of its Members of the Court to talk about the future of the PCA, its contributions to international law, and how it can better serve the evolving dispute resolution needs of the Contracting Parties.
This Congress was held at the Peace Palace in The Hague (the Netherlands) from Wednesday, 12 June 2024 to Friday, 14 June 2024.
