On 3 March 2026, Ambassador Lambert Dushimimana formally presented his letters of credence to President Alar Karis, officially assuming his role as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Rwanda to Estonia.

After the credential ceremony, President Karis and Ambassador Dushimimana held discussions centered on enhancing both bilateral and multilateral ties, with particular attention to trade and investment.

Other highlights of the visit to Estonia:

On 2 March, H.E. Ambassador Dushimimana, Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda, presented copies of the Letters of Credence to Mr. Urmas Eigla, Chief of State Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia.

Later that day, the Ambassador paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Mait Palts, Director General of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Their discussion focused on opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation, including facilitating closer contacts between the Chambers of Commerce of Rwanda and Estonia.

On Monday evening, the Ambassador also held an engaging meeting with Rwandan students residing in Estonia.
