The Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, in collaboration with IBUKA-Netherlands, cordially invited everyone to the 27^th commemoration of the 1994 Genocide perpetrated against the Tutsi in Rwanda (Kwibuka27), which was held virtually on Wednesday 7 April 2021 from 15:00 to 16:00hrs. The programme of this 27^th commemoration included the following:

• Welcoming remarks by the Master of Ceremony: Jean Hugues MUKAMA, First Secretary at the Embassy of Rwanda
• Minute of silence to remember the victims of the 1994 Genocide perpetrated against the Tutsi.
• Opening remarks by Mrs. Christine Safari, Chairperson of IBUKA-Netherlands
• Testimony by Mrs. Naila Clarisse, Genocide survivor
• Lighting of Urumuri Rutazima, the never-ending light of hope
• Remarks by Judge Agius Carmel, President of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT)
• Remarks by Mr. Paul Huijts, Secretary General in the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs 
• Keynote address by H.E. Olivier Jean Patrick Nduhungirehe, Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to the Kingdom of the Netherlands

The commemoration will feature a slideshow of pictures of Heads of diplomatic missions accredited to The Hague, as well as members of the Rwandan Community in the Netherlands, holding Urumuri Rutazima, the never-ending flame of remembrance, to symbolize the inextinguishable spirit of hope and resilience of the Rwandan people.
