Ambassador received at the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
On 30 October 2025, Ambassador Lambert Dushimimana, the newly appointed non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Rwanda, was received for his accreditation visit by Ivita Burmistre, Under-Secretary of State for Economic Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia.
During their meeting, the two officials reflected on the successful visit of the President of Rwanda to Latvia in 2024 and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen political dialogue and enhance economic cooperation, particularly in high value-added sectors. Ms. Burmistre highlighted the growing interest of Latvian businesses in expanding partnerships across Africa.
Ambassador Dushimimana underscored Rwanda’s readiness to deepen bilateral ties through the signing of new cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding, and extended congratulations to Latvia on its election to the United Nations Security Council. The discussion also touched upon current global security issues and shared priorities for collaboration.
